I loved Eclipse! I'm in small town Colorado outside of Denver, and I opted to see it yesterday at 12 noon. My boyfriend and I were 2 out of about 10 people in the theater! It was great. I had a full on squealing fit at the HP 7 IMAX trailer, but that is another thread! :)
I really enjoyed this film better than the others for tons of reasons, most of which have already been mentioned. I loved that Bella and Edward seemed more comfortable with each other. It was more natural for the actors and the characters, I think. They joked and *smiled!* and actually acted like two people in love. I think this goes to show that under the proper direction, they can all actually act. The tent scene was perfect.
The makeup and styling were much better. The "cold ones" all looked less like stage vamps with caked white on their faces. The blending really made a difference! And I like Rosalie and Bella in their wigs better actually. It took a while to look past it but I think its for the best. Golden eyes, black eyes, crimson eyes! I loved them all. The flashbacks were very well done. Rosalie in her wedding dress!! OMG!
Twilight and New Moon were movies I went to see because they had to be seen. I love the books and I wanted to see them on the big screen. But Eclipse was different because it was a good movie on its own. I loved David Slade's other movie "30 Days of Night" even though the graphic novel was obvs. better. I think that if the Breaking Dawn director can take some of the changes that Slade made in this one into account, the fourth movie might be the best of all, cause they just keep getting better!
